I agree there is definitely a problem with the cattiness of some providers who refuse reference requests while at the same time requiring them. SMH

Luckily there are several providers who have always responded in a timely manner and are greatly appreciated!

and honestly most ladies I know in the Austin area. However, there are many that I do not know, and have been great at giving references but I can not name on a hobby board. I have had my share of bad luck also, as at times, a gent may not know that certain ladies do not want to be used as a reference and I have told that gent so had to do other forms of screening.
I am reference friendly and always try to get back to someone in a timely fashion.

Three questions: Is it ok to ask for a reference if you've only seen someone once? Also, what if it's been a few months? Should you only ask people that you've seen in the last couple of months?

I pass along the reference info, but I don't usually know who has/hasn't responded and provided refs and/or said nice things on my behalf but if you're reading this and you have, thank you!

If this is actually happening, it is sad. I was told by a newbie lady that she has requested some references from some ladies and was told it would cost her $20-30 for reference information. I hope the newbie was just being harassed but I really hope that is not going on either. Safety should not be compromised for money...EVER!!

Wow I'm sorry but that's straight up bullshit!!

That's as fucked up as ladies who prey on newbies in the iso section knowing damn well the never respond to any ladies reference requests. Newbies want to see someone that will help verify them and help them by being a gate way into the hobby. They arent trying to have to start all over again because you just want money and are catty.

Charging for references or vouches is reprehensible, and says far more about the lady than she realizes.

Good karma via kindness and cooperation never hurts.

  Ladies have always been fast and friendly with giving refs....I think I have only ever had 2 ladies just either not answer me (but never has a problem asking) or the other one who said I just don't give out references

I will ALWAYS respond to a request the second I see it and will never charge anyone for one..Thats just selfish and crazy
