Would cancer stop you? Question for the ladies

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well. I have been on the board for a long time but to be honest I found the one provider that was everything I wanted. So I haven't done much more than lurk for the past 4 years. Sadly things change and my change was lymphoma. I have known since December 2022 and the chemo has gotten me to a point that I feel mostly back to normal (except for some bad days) . There are new limitations and realities with my new physical condition. But I won't bore you with the specifics.

In all honesty I would be just fine to continue seeing the provider I have always seen but I am worried that the fact I am sick and I inevitably talk about my condition is making her worry to the point she has been pulling away. So my first question is if a longtime client were to get sick how would you treat them or the situation?

Facing end of life type events have made me desire new experiences and want to meet new people. To be clear though I am going to be ok, unless something catastrophic happens during treatment. I feel that cancer and explaining my situation might scare some girls off. So my second question is how would you react to meeting a new client that you know is sick?

Good to hear treatment appears to be working.

Stay strong and get better and better. Lymphomas come in many forms and many are very treatable. Scientists discover more treatments over time, hoping yours is more treatable as time passes.

Ck, thank you for the words of encouragement. And kaly I never thought about my body actually telling me that I need something when it came to the hobby. That's an interesting thought.

I hate Cancer! It took my dad from me 2 years ago this September. I personally wouldn't have an issue seeing someone who has cancer but my only concern would be that you are mentally and physically ready for the date. I've had multiple friends and family members battle this horrible disease and most always try pushing themselves to hard without giving their body adequate time between treatments etc and they end up doing to much. The hobby should be a fun outlet that gets you away from the stresses of normal life. I don't really think anyone can answer this question besides yourself. You have to make that decision. Are you really physically up for it? Are you mentally prepared to meet someone new? You mentioned you have some new limitations etc are you going to be prepared and okay if things don't go as you planned? I send you healing thoughts and prayers.

I have seen people with chronic illness or disabilities and I have never had an issue. Communication and clear boundaries make a great session :)

I have seen a lot of folks with all sorts of issues, from cerebral palsy to one guy who lost both his legs in war and struggled mentally a lot from it and it has never been a deterrent for me to stop me from seeing anyone. Everyone needs company and to feel loved and appreciated. I know there are a lot of conceited women who are very judgemental when it comes to appearances or health problems and it breaks my heart for men in those positions. Sex for me is very mental and physical appearance does absolutely nothing for me. It all comes down to the overall mental chemistry. The only time I would worry is with someone who has heart problems because I would probably freak out if I ever had to call an ambulance for someone.
