I'm in the unemployed self employed category from day 1 of this bullshit! I understand how everyone else feels and have the same frustrations. I have had issue with taxes before this and had a very interesting conversation with the IRS the other day that tells me they are in a world of shit as well. (I just happen to have some family members that are rather high in the IRS hierarchy) They are shuttering divisions right now because of the virus and are getting panicked as well. The local taxing authorities you can deal with because they really have no mechanisms to collect without IRS help. Not to say you don't have to eventually pay the money but you can negotiate from a position of relative strength. Especially if you are trying to protect a workforce.
So if you haven't been designated as essential services, do you feel much less important to society? When the economy restarts, I'm just wondering how much of the non-essential sector will bounce back quickly.
it will take a little while as this shit has pitted neighbor against neighbor. people have become scared of each other.
The toll on the economy will be felt for awhile, long after this COVID-19 crap blows over. This new PPP doesn’t even help the restaurants. Their waiters and waitresses get paid $2.13 per hour. And 2.5x their monthly payroll means nothing. Waiters will stay in unemployment for 4 months regardless of when the stupid Shelter In Place order is lifted. They get the unemployment benefit PLUS $600 additional each week. So restaurants are destined to not reopen until 4 months out, by then it’s too late, bills pile up and nothing to help them with those other than going out of business permanently.
AMEN BROTHERS & SISTERS!
This is the GREATEST HOAX perpetuated on the dumbed down indoctrinated public by liberal socialist elitists to destroy our society and economy! But first they beta tested another fake panic aka manmade “global warming” and once they saw all the IDIOTS fall for THAT RUSE, utilizing a new virus was EASY TO CREATE THIS HYSTERIA and DESTROY US FROM WITHIN!
just look at the statistics and verbiage:
STATS:
Worldwide - 95% SURVIVAL RATE/RECOVERY
USA - 98% SURVIVAL RATE/RECOVERY RATE
this percentage has held true SINCE THE FIRST CASES! If this was a virus WORTHY of shutting down the WORLD the SURVIVABILITY rate would’ve been going DOWN SIGNIFICANTLY not remaining THE SAME!
VERBIAGE:
PANDEMIC definition: 1. A new disease 2. Widespread
EPIDEMIC definition: 1. Widespread disease 2. EVERYONE DYING FROM IT!
Notice how the MSM ASSHOLES ONLY USE THE WORD PANDEMIC & NOT epidemic!
This HOAX is ALL BASED ON FINALLY PUTTING INTO PLAY GENERATIONS OF DUMBEDDOWN INDOCTRINATED SHEEPLE who are now literally flocking themselves into the SLAUGHTER of socialism and thats what this hoax is ALL ABOUT - CONDITIONING us into Full CONTROL known as SOCIALISM!

It's not really the meager reported wages. For the service industry folks that do get unemployment, the $600 weekly Federal kicker is a big fucking deal. I wouldn't go back to work until I got every single goddamn week of $600 plus whatever. Even if their low reported wages only qualify them for like $40 in Texas UI bennies, these people are going to be collecting $600 + $40 or $640 weekly (it will be disbursed bi-weekly, so in this hypothetical instance it would be $1,280 every two weeks). Only a dumbass would leave free money on the table and go back to work.
I wish I was still in the game hitting licks. It's gonna be a pretty sweet time in the...ahem...cash economy once the spigots open up! That much I'll tell you. Hell, Ol' JS might just have to hop back in the mix for a minute. Bet.

And no one is not taking into account that unemployment is taxable income for federal tax purposes.
So they will collect it then get pissed if they have to pay tax on it.
...are taxable. You get a 1099-G for those. I believe I have read that the $600 Federal kicker is not regarded as taxable income. Either way, the average service industry working schmoe isn't too damn worried about tax planning. Once they latch onto this tit, it's gonna be hard to get them to come back to work. Pretty much all lower income workers should be endeavoring to do just that. Hell, Ol' JS is self-employed and definitely tryna figure out how to get in on the enhanced unemployment benefits provided for in the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Program (Section 2102 of the CARES Act).
These are unprecedented measures and Ol' JS stands ready to run out whatever road he damn well needs to run out in order to get his piece of this boondoggle. Bet.

Hell. Glad I don't have to be in a food line, unemployment office or taking one of those meager checks.
Doing just fine. Lament the days having a beer in the bar while waiting for traffic to die down.
Will always PM from this or the other site as initial contact.

They’ll take out 10% to cover taxes and I think if your employer gets loan relief it cuts your UI benefits but they have to pay you your full salary. My girl owns a biz and I manage a small meat plant where the owner is almost too open with a few of us about what’s going on behind the scenes.
And yeah....the click-clack is beggin to make em get back. The last time I wore gloves and a mask into a gas station......the year started with a 1 and you couldn’t save shit to a cloud. There’s gonna be a lot of ppl that make shitty choices with a pocketful of cash. With those stores closed gotta give em an option to spend on. Hahaha. They’re on that 365.
