a funtional rail system for commuterss
a professional sports team and stadium
property tax reform ( i know it;s a state thing but let's think big picture)
a public musuem and arts district
less public tax dollars encouraging growth
put I 35 underground and make it 12 lanes wide
help musicians and artists with affordable housing
preserve our local culture and businesses with tax breaks
have a zero growth policy and stop gentrification
fix trffic by demanding business and school stagger work times and encourage work from home

I'd add a "Add More Road And Lanes" option. As much as the city council is trying to make Austin eco-friendly, there is just too much need for more roads and lanes.

Agreed, but unfortunately, this city is bisected by a river that leaves us with no decent east-west arteries in town. I35 is a freaking joke and couldn't accommodate this city before the expansion north and south.
I think there's something to be said for building up the neighborhoods to reduce the need to travel.
Let's just get naked and play. That would make Austin better for me:)
What would make this city better? Hmmmm? As a native Austinite, I can say - without reservation - that it's definitely not the city I grew to know and love. The infrastructure is for shit, the taxes are for shit, and those making the decisions (on our behalf) are mostly full of shit. Maybe a good first step is to build a wall so that all those relocating to the city every hour it seems can stay the fuck out while we figure this shit out. Maybe we should figure out a way for folks who have long since paid off their mortgages in this damn town to stay here without seeing their property taxes rise to ridiculously high levels. Maybe we should keep the millennials the fuck out of East Austin. You know, the scary place that they wouldn't dare go after dark back in the day. Now, it's the trendy place to be. Transplants are fuckin' up this city big time.
