    New ECCIE party procedure?

    http://www.eccie.net/showthread.php?t=907928

Is this a new party procedure on ECCIE. Lola Brea is planning a party here in the DFW area and it has been posted as a sticky in Dallas Coed.

    Cool

Yes, the procedure is that as soon as the mods see a post or thread about a party or social it gets closed. If they deem the post of value they will sticky it for a while so the message gets out, they just don't allow open discussion about the party or social. I'm not sure why.

The difficult area is the determination as to what constitutes a social, party, or gathering of hobbyists. They have allowed a thread in Austin to continue even though it clearly discusses hobbyists meeting for the purpose of gathering gifts for charity. It gives dates, times and locations. But I'm not a mod there or an owner so I don't have to justify it.
