Has anyone here used a nanny cam or have experience with them?

Considering using one to check in on an elderly relative and the care they're receiving.

Just spent a few hours on Amazon looking around at the cheaper options available but thought to ask here. For whatever reason, the notion bothers me but I cannot be in one place 24/7.

I haven't used one personally, but have seen friends who did.. they work well. one friend has one for his business, to spy on his employees in real time. I was at his house recently when he turned it on, and we both watched in fascination, because it appeared like one Employee was drinking on the job.. he summoned his business partner to go check, we watched as the partner showed up 10 minutes later, and "discretely" checked.. turns out the Employee had some Mexican fruit drink that was easily mistaken for a large beer can. the whole ordeal lasted some 40 minutes, it was a thrill to watch the drama play out. not that it would be thrilling to observe bad behavior applied to an elderly relative!
