I am in total agreement with you. You are an "Independent Provider" and SHOULD be able to charge whatever the fuckity fuck you want. No argument there.
I see no reason for it to be private. I doubt it will effect anyone's chances in booking a session.

This.^ Some guys and gals prefer 90 minutes or more of carnal companionship (my usual minimum), but if based on average Hobbying time, probably the hour will be most representative.

I don't think a poll will be very effective, however, in affecting rates if that is the ultimate goal, as responses may be motivated and/or too limited, but will be interesting to see the votes and comments.

Agreed, this poll has no bargaining value, since only a small, self-selecting minority of the hobby population will choose to participate. Gals will set their rates based on what the actual market will bear and how often they choose to work.

Also, some guys with an agenda for lower rates will likely skew the poll results low based on what they'd rather pay instead of their actual historical maximum.

I was gonna vote, but the wording and selection I didn't feel were right. If it were the MAXIMUM I would pay I couldn't say. For the right girl, fantasy, situation I could go pretty high(maybe some celebrity or former acquaintance that I fantasized about).
If the poll was instead SHOULD be the AVERAGE rate you are willing to pay I would put that in the 200 to 280hr depending on the girl and if I like something about her. Otherwise I just move on. Escorts have rarely ever been this amazing sex bomb that I can't get enough of, so I can't justify spending more than that.

I like to keep things simple. I had two prices. One for FBSM and one for GFE. I did half hours when I first got in the hobby and then figured out those were not the clients I was looking for so I went with the hour only. Those clients are the ones that I geared my rates to. Once I did that it was smooth sailing all the way to a permanent vacation which I am really enjoying. Wheither or not a provider charges 400 an hour or the monger declines her services at that price - each person has to do what's best for them and should be allowed to do that without ridicule.

Your point is valid, except instead of taking it as an attempt to get girls to lower their rates maybe see it as market research where both sides can benefit. If I am selling a Dodge Caravan I'd want to get as much as I could for it, but putting it on Craigslist for $100,000 isn't going to get me any customers. I also don't want to sell it for less than someone is willing to pay for it. Why get $3,000 for it when someone sees it as worth $5,000 and willing to pay that? Market research is usually better for the seller.

If this poll had been started by a lady seeking data so she could price her time would your reaction have been the same?

That said, the frequency that this topic gets brought up (mostly by the guys) is probably an effort to lower prices or at least prevent them from escalating more.

P.S. If anybody is in need of a Dodge Caravan I've just lowered the price to $75,000. DM if interested.

I’m curious as to why the perception is that this is designed to “force ladies to lower their rates “? It was also not intended to give PW Gents there chance to score bonus points. Of course this poll is NOT scientific and NOT sanctioned by Gallup. But coming from a business management and marketing background, I thought it would be interesting to see what the Top End number Gents are willing to pay.

I could have told you who would be the first participants and what price range they would choose. They have been vociferously proclaiming it in co-ed and reviews here and elsewhere for ages. All this poll really serves is just another way to state what anyone who pays a modicum of attention would already know about the spending habits of the inveterate and committed board posters. That is to say, there are absolutely zero surprises to be found here.

As for "Top End"...Those chaps rarely participate in the boards, I will go so far as to say simply as a personal anecdote, a lot of them aren't even members, and aren't likely to participate just because there is a poll. As a consequence, any poll like this will skew in an extremely predictable way.

Too many factors to mention determine the rate a provider sets for herself, just as there are too many factors to address here what budget a hobbyist is most comfortable with. As has been mentioned ad nauseam, the great thing about these boards is there is literally something for everyone. People may charge what they want, people may pay what they wish. I haven't a problem with either.

But why we must beat the shit out of this dead horse over and over again is beyond my conceit. Inherently skewed polls are not viable nor valuable commentary on capitalism, marketing, or anything else of consequence, it's just entertainment and even that can be debated. It has never served to collectively lower rates, nor has it factored in influencing these self-same chaps to pay more, nor has it shown anything anyone who has spent more than a week or so on a board doesn't already know. It's just an ever posted redundancy, though it seems some people have a great deal of interests in "rates" since they cannot seem for the life of them to disengage themselves from this banal subject.

Regardless what your “intent” is, what matters is how it is perceived. And, Ellen noted it perfectly. Snippy little comments and post about a lady’s rate or how much$ a gent spent is just that...Ridicule. And, I find it disheartening the amount of vinegar some choose to spew around at others on this topic...
Here is an analogy: if your buddy had the means and bought an expensive high end car that he enjoyed, and that you could never afford or would never spend that much money on, would you hate on his happiness of it? Or would you be excited and happy for him? Better yet, would he even put you down for driving a “lesser” vehicle? I doubt it... So, why be that way here? And the rub is when you do that you are making the Austin OH2 forum a hostile place, which in turn limits the quality of diversity that could be had here.
