Lots of car windows busted out in the 183/Parmer/MoPac area. I&#39;m downtown now, and we&#39;re getting a bunch of rain and lightning. Get home and stay there!

Also, there was baseball-size hail in Pflugerville.

It&#39;s always a good idea to have a mental map of where there are good hiding spots around town.

Publicly accessible parking garages, bank drive-thrus (after hours), etc.

Some of them fill up quick, so don&#39;t count on spots being open if you don&#39;t get there first, unless there are a lot of spots.

If you have a vehicle that can make it over the curb, the area under the elevated section of 183 near Burnet would work, too.

Don&#39;t stop under a bridge and block traffic. I&#39;ve seen idiots do that, and I&#39;m sure someone&#39;s going to get shot for doing that one of these days by someone who&#39;s trapped behind them and gets his car beat up because you blocked the road.

Don&#39;t park under gas station awnings, or bank drive-through covers if there&#39;s wind and it doesn&#39;t look strong enough.

Wowza, I feel so bad for you guys up in Austin! The same system is heading for Houston, and to the north in Conroe I&#39;m about to get slammed. They just announced a tornado warning for my area. My dogs are all hiding under the desk curled around my feet.
