It's never cool to ghost someone you're booked with. Confirm on the day of the appointment doesn't mean you have the option to cancel by dropping contact. If you can't show up for whatever reason, and there are lots of valid ones, the least you can do is text as soon as you find out it's off and let them know so they can make other plans.
Hope the OP has the chance to post his side of the story, though it's hard to imagine why this happened. Not sure if posting in co-ed is the best outcome for everyone. Maybe not the best PR strategy, but at least he has the choice of responding, unlike posting in lady's LR etc.
