Search for Posts By Member Name

... a royal pain in the ass here? There IS a "shortcut" of sorts via clicking member profile, then clicking their posts tab...

... but that makes you look like a stalker after a while!!! :P

I don&#39;t understand why searching a member is a pain. Don&#39;t you just click on the members tab, then put in the name you are searching?

If you are logging in as private it won&#39;t show that you have looked at their profile. They will never know that you are stalking them. :D

Click on the "members" button on top of the forum page:

You may search by:

Member name or must have photo or gender in the initial search fields. (your choice/s)

Above and to the right of these fields is the "toggle more options" toggle/switch which will bring up (or down, as case may be)

many more search options (I&#39;d love to have these available to members at aspd) which include

city or state (added just last week, so many members haven&#39;t filled it out as yet)

home page or signature contains

messengers (AIM, Yahoo, etc)

post count and date

etc.

Now here&#39;s the rub... if a member chooses to keep his/her profile private, well, it&#39;s private and some data may not be seen by other members (depending on the member class, some classes get more privilege, like bcd gets more than just registered, etc.). However, all active (in good standing) members are ordinarily visible to some degree in the list as far as I know.

I don&#39;t think he&#39;s asking how to search for a member but how to search for posts by a particular member. To do that, you can click the Search link up above, then the More Options button near the bottom of that page. There are filters for member name and date along with a few other options.

Ding, ding, ding!! That is what I am looking for. The direct link reflects a rather convoluted process:

Search\More Search Options\More Options\Filter By Member Name (Options) ____________________.

Moreover, this page doesn&#39;t do exactly that. This page apparently only enables you to search for posts that contain a member&#39;s name, which also scoops up posts created by that member. The results is just a list of the entire threads rather than just the posts.

Agreed. That&#39;s what I&#39;m trying to get at. Oh well.... something for the "next release" if the powers that be here have the ear of the developers...
