I just caught this new show on Showtime called Deeper Throat and well. . .apparently there is nothing sacred.

It seems that Steven Hirsch and company have obtained the rights to remake the all-time classic: DEEP THROAT.

I don't mind remakes if you at least respect the original when you approach such a project. Unfortunately, that is not going to happen. He turned it over to PT. PT has decided he is creative genius and has pitched so many weird ideas that make me wonder if he dropped a bunch of acid in the hey days of his 70's porn stardom.

A musical? A murder mystery? WOW!

They have decided that the thing that worked best for the original, a film that realized it was comedy and gained power by having a lead that was atypical of a porn actress in Linda Lovelace (innocent girl next door) should be abandoned.

In fact here is who they cast:

It is just my two cents, but they are going to ruin this classic.

The biggest mistake they made is not casting this gal:

Heather Harmon is better for the role than Sasha Grey for two reasons.

1) She is incredibly talented at actually doing the skill required for the movie

2) She has the girl-next-door appeal that Linda Lovelace had.

Deeper Throat chronicles the making of "Throat: A Cautionary Tale," the remake of the 1972 Gerard Damiano classic Deep Throat, with industry directed by Paul Thomas and starring Sasha Grey. AVN writer David Sullivan says, "The reality show tracks the process of creating the 21st century Throat. The catch: Vivid must secure approval from Ray Pistol and Arrow Productions, the Las Vegas-based owners of the Deep Throat franchise who have their own ideas about how the property should be handled. It's a clash between the old school of X-rated films and the polished, corporate model of porn that Vivid pioneered starting in the '80s and '90s. According to the insiders who participated in the series, that dramatic conflict makes for must-see TV."
