Puppy cry's..."I was dropped off on the side of the road with no food or water. I am so little & young and do not Know which way to go? I'm so hungry & cold my journey has been long & I am growing week. Is there any one out there to help me? Is there anyone home? I will make a good watch dog and a great companion to you. I just want to be loved don't you?"

:) Special thank you to Bullcorn for helping me find a wonderful home for this little puppy. From the bottom of my heart, "Thank you so very much for being the wonderful kind person you are!"

If any of you ever get the chance to meet this wonderful Gentleman make sure you bring doggy & kitty treats for his little furry friends.
Thank you Bullcorn!

Awww, how happy! What kind of puppy was it? I have to fight the urge to go to one of the local animal shelters about twice a week... I have a dog and and a kitty already, and my apartment is fairly small. I really really REALLY want another dog though.

Hello Austin Liz,
She was a Welsh Terrier possible mix. I just  animals & try to do what little I can when I can. I have 4 furry friends & a house. Yes I tried that APT thing it was hard I just need my space. I do miss all the extra accomendations of apt living.
If I come across another homeless baby I'll let you know. If you are still interested I do know some people that do animal rescue that sure could use a good home for some of their babies or older animals. They are also members of this board.

What a nice post. My last dog was from San Antonio AFB. A wild dog that was on the landing strip. Brother got it for his wife. After they parted ways. They gave her to me. Had her for 14 years. What a great dog that mutt was.

You know that time when they are on top of you in a 69, they rise their head for air and make sounds of joy. Ya Spank them, they need to get back to work ae.

Offshoredrilling, good name for that boat. I'm glad that mutt was great to you I am sure she felt the same about you:o)

Oh ....long sigh .....with a little tear but of sweet memories of all my pets that I loved and lost in life.
How special they are with no demands or complains just full of love.

You know its funny I have never met a mean dog. Well one time... oh some claim she was crazy & full of the devil but when she bite me I did not scream just bent over, bite her ear ( like a you would a horse) and put my other arm around her neck and hugged her telling her its okay...at which she released my arm and begain licking the small wound. I took her home after a complaint to the local police returned my call. She was the sweetest dog (at the time of accident she was surviving barely in an abusive home.)

You know it just amazes me of all that these beast go though they can still love and trust us. We should all learn from them.
Thank you for sharing your story Offshoredrilling.

Cool

king is so adorable!! i attached pics of mine too. kash is the alcoholic & ziggs is the black one

one of my dogs is a rescued animal. he was found roaming the 9th ward after katrina. i always wonder what his real story is, because he's extremely smart. seriously, if he wants to go in the yard, he unlocks & opens the door & lets himself out! rolls down windows in the car on his own. freaks me out sometimes cuz i swear he can understand english! i also have a purebred mini schnauzer who i paid $350 for who happens to be the most clumsy, ditzy dog in the world. he's kinda slow too. my friends & i think he rode the short bus lol! only thing i can say bad about my Ziggy (adopted dog) is that it's obvious that he's been through some traumatic things because he's skiddish around new people and he won't let new people touch him. (he had to be muzzled @ the vet for like his first 8 or 9 visits) other than that, best $75 i ever spent!! awesome, awesome companion! i just wish i knew exactly what he was mixed with. the spca guestimates that hes a pit bull mix but he looks to me like a mini lab. i don't think that you can mix a lab & a pit & end up with his size.
i know just how you feel liz. my bf has now banned me from going to the spca. if i could i'd adopt every animal there & my place just isn't big enough to fit a hotel for dogs. i did just recently move into a bigger home so i've been lookin online @ husky adoption. (shhhh!! don't tell my bf!)

Living out here in the country, we get lots of strays come to our door after being dropped off: dogs and cats, an occasional cow and a Cessna 172 that had to park in the yard after an emergency landing. We don't take them to the pound we just place them with friends after trying to find the owners. Most of whom should be shot, btw. (owners not animals)
