Genevieve (thank goodness for spellcheck I still can't get used to that name btw) has a great place for private gatherings. It has been a longtime for me but if she says she got it she got it believe that!

I'd definitely be interested in attending if the venue were discreet
Oh those Houston gatherings y’all used to have !! Always so much FUN, y’all know how to party lol
I would definitely attend :sweettoo:
After a small scare in June, I'd be interested in getting my feet wet and mingling with y'all, also!
Sounds like fun!:)
Well I run a bar in midtown and I can easily secure a section for this group. Very discreetly and professional. It’s isnt a young, trashy , club. If there’s interest, I will let whoever wants to set this up know all the info

Ps.... how the hell am I not verified!!
^^you have to get a Verified Provider vouch for you.
but, sounds fun..
I’ve seen plenty that will vouch for me. If there is interest, I’m 100% down
Wishing I had more time to engage on this topic, so let me say that aside from the Dec. 2009 interruption my attitude toward Houston remains positive.
All that aside (and no discussion is necessary) imo the best way to initiate any semi-regular meet & greets is with a very small nucleus of verified companions and verified hobbhyists.
Let me repeat: very small nucleus! Perhaps a dozen or so of each. If only to gather in a secluded place -- and my suggestion is NOT a totally private place since totally private implies the possibility for hanky & panky.
That way the group can "test" both the group dynamic and the venue dynamic.
And even if y'all think my suggestion is way too cautious, I can obviously cite chapter and verse of events over the years that failed to observe protocols, that were visited by LEOs and were disbanded due to a few attendees failing to respect the event rules and thus ruining the experiences for everyone going forward.
Nothing wrong with seeking interest in public.
But take everything else PRIVATE and keep it that way.
ck's rules, published every event, no matter the type of venue:
Rules are simple:
Expect respect; give it in return.
No hobby talk, rates, services, etc. But you can let people know how to reach you.
We do wear name tags (disguised) and we don't talk to anyone not wearing a name tag.
Zero cover charge; it is "pay as you go" or get a tab.
Full bar and kitchen.
Under 21's are welcome but must respect venue alcohol rules.
Security
Only those with a current invitation** from ck1942 may attend.
For the security of all attending, the social invite protocol makes zero allowances for un-invited “drop in’s” -- even if they are well known in the hobby community and have attended previous events.
Current invites are always mandatory.
= = = = =
**The social committee requires all attending to be in good standing, meaning they respect each other on and off the board and bad behavior anywhere means no invitation!
I am 'interested'...
Count me in... It sounds like fun...! Please PM me with info.
I can possibly help with the planning. Feel free to ask....
