UK Moves to Require ID to Watch Internet Porn

This year, British porn enthusiasts will have to begin proving their age in order to watch adult movies on the Internet. This is part of the age verification laws that were passed last year. The laws require that people register with a government website and provide a credit card as evidence of age, after which they would receive an ID number to use when watching porn. If that sounds like a hacker's paradise to you, then you are not alone.

The British government's solution is to allow shops -- news stands, convenience stores, and of course adult-oriented businesses -- to sell "porn passes" after checking the customer's age. So now young people in the UK will have to do for porn what we did in the US in regards to alcohol. Namely bribe an 18-year-old to buy it for us.

And, fwiw, what would prevent an ID holder from sharing his id with other folks, much as peeps share Netflix and other "subscription" service log ins and passwords.

Actually, now that the Apple watch can monitor diabetic sugar levels, a whole new world of technology may open up assuming the watch can also id the user's DNA.

Maybe the Brits can be the first to use Apple watches to monitor porn goers the same way.
