Freetail is the only one I have tried. Good selection. Food is decent. Bar feels small though. I like a wide comfortable bar. I've noticed a couple of smaller places but have missed out due to limited hours.
Road Map is pretty good. Kunstler is good. Cibolo Creek in Boerne is worth the drive. Dorcol makes a good craft beer. Weathered Souls is a bit expensive.
Sounds like a pub crawl is in order!!! I guess it just depends on what type of beer you enjoy. I prefer 5 Stones and Guadalupe in New Braunfels or if you want some of the best go to Rough Diamond up 281 (Bergheim area), very good beer.
Mad Pecker is pretty good.
