if you can buy it outright, i suggest the online route.
check http://kbb.com or http://truecar.com or similar websites to get a reasonable range of prices for what you are looking for.
some of those websites link directly to dealerships, some just give info on how to get to the dealership.
then check the dealerships online and communicate w/ them via email. internet-sales only salesfolks usually give you their best price right away, no having to haggle w/ "i gotta run this by my manager".
if you know what you want, know what is a reasonable price, and have cash or a loan from somewhere else in hand, you have lots of bargaining power.
