Some other good spots down levy road in surfside and also under the bridge in surfside there’s some streets that will take you to great spots! By the coast guard station in surfside! Freeport harbor by the highschool google maps with satellite is your friend promise lol!
Matagorda is another great area and Sargent
Dorthy, you catch that tagged red yet? Feeling the need to get salty soon.
Yes sir I did I extended my fishy trip and so happy I did ! Should have went last night but I was exhausted! I’m going again soon but In texas this time they’re running down here & im so excited! I know I sound retarded but if you’ve caught that tag red you know the feeling! Better than a orgasm ha
Holy shit that's awesome! What state? What did you win? Congrats!!!
Well in Texas you win a truck, boat & trailer but you have to be a registered star tournament angler. There is always someone who catches one & then goes and registers and tries to collect the prize, it doesn’t work that way you have to be registered before (and they will polygraph & investigate prior to awarding prize).
Dorthy do you give saltwater fishing lessons? Have an hourly rate?
I'm not long on patience either. I'll pull you in with me.
Are there any places similar to rollover pass where you can get close, set up lights and open at night.
Damn I miss Rollover, best fishing ever.
I haven't been to Seawold park in years my friend. Will have to try it.
DJ thanks for the tip I will give it a try.
Cool front coming in around Sept. 8th or so, bull red run may start right after that.
Mouth of the Brazos had bull’s running this weekend.
Yes it is. During the weekends, there's a booth at the entrance that will charge $10 but weekdays and night time is free. There's a bait shop (and a cheap crawfish shop) called Boyd's right by there to pick up some goods.

Due to a dislocated patella and two surgeries in the past 3 months, this will be the first bull red run I've missed since Hurricane Ike. At this point, I can barely drive the local neighborhood much less drive to Galveston and fish...........and it's killing me missing the battle with a 40 inch bull red.
Thank you for your post, and I hope you have nothing but tight lines in your future.
After 50+ years, diabetes has taken a pretty big toll on my sig. other. I almost lost her in early 2019 when she had a heart attack, then went into cardiogenic shock. It was 50/50 at that time. Earlier this year she fell and broke her kneecap in three places and was in the hospital for about 3-4 weeks. I can't leave her by herself for any period of time over an hour. Maybe one day I can get her to sit on the pier (Seawall and 92nd) while I do some fishing, but again, leaving her for over an hour isn't something I was willing to do.
I hope you and your family has a blessed holiday season.
sorry to hear about your sig other, DJ.
Maybe their is a way for this to happen I will message you! I have to start all over fishing wise since some low life decided to steal my truck! I haven’t been the same since honestly they took a lot of things I can’t replace and it’s messing with me more than anyone could understand! My prayers are with her and you ! I understand that disease more than I wish and like I said if I can help in any way let me know!
I hope the same for you and yours ! If I can help in any way possible nothing expected just fishing buddy to fishing buddy!
