The answer is “ races “!
Horse, cars, track & field, dog, etc.
Europe does run a few horse races clockwise but just now & then.
Races have limits that are measured clockwise in hours, minutes, or seconds and the race is always run in a counterclockwise direction.
It’s the track.
Oddly enough, even baseball is played counterclockwise but the time is measured in innings.
Didn’t think of “ clock “ but that’s also correct. Ex: 15 till or 15 after.

Not all races are run in a counterclockwise direction. All F1 races are in a clockwise direction. The 24 hours of Le Mans, Daytona are run in a clockwise direction. The are some places (Daytona for example) where races are run in both directions.
"Don't come here and grumble about going too fast. Get the hell out of the race car if you've got feathers on your legs or butt. Put a kerosene rag around your ankles so the ants won't climb up there and eat that candy ass."
