Agency Pre-Pay Half Before Booking?

I'm going to be headed out of town soon and was checking out the local providers in the area. When I reached out to one I discovered she was with an agency (didn't say that in profile). She then says "You have to pay half upfront so my manager can book you down." Is this common practice for agencies?

No, that’s usually not the standard procedure unless it’s new agency with their own procedures, But then again you said it wasn’t in the profile. I would be careful with that since it wasn’t stated.

General rule...and this falls on deaf ears all the time, never prepay, unless ofcourse you have extra cash to lose.

I’ve never heard of having to pre-pay any amount at any agency. I do know providers at times request deposits.

Pre paying and paying deposits is a matter of trust. If you don't trust her, don't send $$ in advance.
