I am sad to report that I demolished my Cobra replecula a few days back in Spain. I was doing my thing driving way too fast but the road was empty-except for that Cow. It was a bright shinny and cold day, road was dry and smooth 4 lane with just a painted divider, fairly straight but with no shoulder which is not uncommon. I was going 150 MPH and loving the acceleration when I saw a cow wonder onto the road about 1/4 mile ahead, that 1/4 mile took less than 2 seconds to disappear. I swerved to the right and missed her but my right side tires went off the road and the lip of the road shredded my tires and wheels, i saw rubber and sparks pieces of metal flying. I knew for sure that I had killed myself but somehow I made it out with just a few scratches. The car rolled side over side too many times to count and Man so rapidly. I had the roll cage in this car built for just such a stupid (on my part) event and it did protect me very well. I was wearing a safety helmet and it has 2 new holes in it now. All of the body work and the entire front suspension was strewn over a mile stretch that it took to come to a stop. Somehow I never left the road and that is what saved my life because the left side of the road has a 150 foot drop off.
Now my daughters, brother and sister have told me pointedly to stop driving so fast, my reply I was ONLY going 150!!
Did I learn anything, (not likely) well next time I think I'll just hit the cow, my cars are so low that I'd probably just slice her legs off and go under her. I am going to salvage the 5 litre Ford Supercharged Coyote engine, it's just less than 1,000 hp and think about building another Cobra or not. Damn I love going fast........................
