we have a great but not well known local music festival coming up soon. the Eastside Kings blues festival is an awesome local event with lesser known but hugely talented blues players from all over. Every year there are quite a few hardcore European blues fans and tourists from all over who come to this. it is not too crowded or hard to get into the shows. I have been going since the beginning and I love the small, local hometown Low key feel to this weekend of great music. see you down at 12th and chicon for this event. https://www.eastsidekingsfest.com/

I have been to every single one since the beginning. I love this festival. real down home, laid back and authentic old school blues. I would never miss it. the one with the Barbara Lynn playing outside in the parking lot was sublime . I will see u there for sure!!

During the post-war era these venues were a hotbed of blues and R&B. The Eastside Kings Festival brings back this unique tradition with artists performing in each venue along this street all with in two nights. This provides a glimpse into African American blues in Austin as it was during the 40’s-60’s. There will be 15 bands playing in 6 venues each day within walking distance of each other on the corner of East 12th Street & Chicon in historic East Austin."

I’m a Blues Fan and former musician who played in a few dive bar bands back in the 70’s and 80’s. I am putting this on my calendar. It would be a great end to my week of vacation!
