blues on the green
it's back!!! Today the opening dates have been announced and the bands are GREAT!! I hope it is not too hot by then. I sure wish it was in the spring and not the summer. Here are the first 2 days Tues June 11 Golden Dawn Orkestra, Nane Ft. Quinten Arispe, and Grace Sorenson. Then the next one is the very next day!! Wed June 12 Riders against the storm, the Point (great band) and Carmelo Haze. Still in Zilker. this long running tradition is part of the Austin mystique of good free music with local bands while partying in the park. see you there. stuff like this is what makes it special to live here surrounded by great music.

turns out this is it. the whole entire season is in these 2 days. that's it. not weekly for 6-7 weeks like usual.

That is a bummer about Blues on the Green being condensed into back-to-back nights this time around. However, there are some good acts in that lineup. Golden Dawn Arkestra, Nane (whose lead singer, Daniel Sahad, sadly passed away in 2022), The Point., and Caramelo Haze are all (at least loosely) affiliated through the Adrian Quesada/Grupo Fantasma/Black Pumas Austin latin-rock-psychedelilc-cumbia scene.
Definitely worth checking out the usually stellar shows on South Congress at C-Boys Heart & Soul and The Continental Club. Money Chicha is another local group that puts on a great live performance.

I saw money chica at the Los super seven reunion show last friday. that entire night was the best night of music I've seen all year.
