Cool Any Providers or Hobbyists Also Tried Descovy for Prep?

    Hey there providers and hobbyists.

I'm interested in knowing if any of you have had any good or bad experiences with Descovy for Prep.

I ask since I've started taking Desccvy for Prep as a prophylaxis in addition to using condoms.

Taking it requires testing every three months and a doctor visit for a new 90 day script which is easy to do.

Descovy for Prep is for use by all sexual orientations.

    Can you dig it!

Well, I can’t take Descovy since it’s not for cisgender
    women like myself, but Truvada…

It may be easy to do for you; however, be aware that others
may have barriers to accessing healthcare overall…

Hmm… Descovy might not be best suited for heterosexual
people assigned female at birth since it wasn’t approved
for sexual exposure involving vaginal receptive sex.

I take Truvada for Prep. I've had no issues so far except the pills are pretty big (Descovy pills are much smaller in comparison but it's not covered by my insurance). I tend to get side effects for new medication and didn't experience any for this one. There wasn't as much initial research done on Prep for AFAB people but it's an option that's available to everyone for helping to prevent the spread of HIV (preferably still used in combination with condoms). There is a difference for men and women in that it takes 7 days to reach an effective dose for men and 21 for women so it's not in your system and working immediately. I hope that's some helpful info for anyone who's interested :)
