When you request a read receipt on a PM, what form does that take.
The recipient will get a pop-up upon opening the message, which asks them to confirm receipt. If they say yes then it will show as "read" in your sent messages (see legend at bottom of page in PM screen).

And if they say no, then you will never know if they read it or not.
