Get ready....after thousands of years of collective industry experience y'all should be ready by now. In my opinion, these factors constitute an environmental dynamic and operational variables that courtesans, escorts and street walkers as well as other sex workers must constantly assess, evaluate and impliment periodic improvements as necessary. Those who don't are usually unprepared, succumb to fear and panic....as we have seen recently yet again. Furthermore, discounting luck, those entities that do not learn from history are more probable to make similar errors ongoing and achieve a less than desirable outcome in the future.

Courtesans, escorts and street walkers among others should always have a contingency plan(s) in place constantly under refinement because change is ever present. Real or imagined a consequence of these new federal and state laws without regard to intent is that some sex workers are being forced into a more hostile operating environment. This is not the first time something like this has happened and it won't be the last. Those who operate blindly on empathy without sufficient emotional intelligence and critical thinking skills will be just as vulnerable as those to operate on thoughts and prayers beyond their appetite for risk.

Hypothetically, I would operate on the assumption that an objective (secondary if not primarily in some jurisdictions) of these new laws in part is the creation of a revenue stream. These laws cultivate courtesans, escorts and street walkers into a demographic group of low hanging fruit ripe for the picking. Kinda like delicious juicy peach shaped BBW booty meat.


Anyway, empathy may meet the emotional needs of sex workers in some respects. However, empathy is probably as useless as thoughts and prayers without an effective strategic and operational plan....Especially, if one is running a sexually oriented business. Why do I get the feeling I am wasting my breath....Ms Universal?

I don't disagree with anything that includes a clear and focused plan.

To me, if a potential client is being empathetic to the situation the providers find themselves currently in it means he will be a little better prepared to comply with the requirements of the provider understanding that the dynamics have changed. It's more than thought's and prayers. It's being a better client. It's cutting out the BS and time wasting and if the screening requirements are more than he is willing to give he politely moves on understanding that the provider's time is occupied with "assessing, evaluating and implementing improvements as necessary" and exercising, evaluating and refining their strategic and operational plans so that they don't have to resort to "the old ways". At least until things stabilize...
Not every client is going to do this but then again not every provider is going to change their strategies.

I can sit here and promise you all the things in the world, cry for you, for women, for men (again one doesn't exist without the other), also remember that men do this too, men also make their livliehood this way (whether through individual sex work or various other ancillary methods), but that won't really do anything will it?

The posts I made were meant to be positive. Not to tell anyone, again, man or woman (equally), to not have feelings. Not one teeny iota. My aim was to put this in perspective, focus on the fact that nothing can be done by law enforcement/US/state laws(I know this as an absolute fact), only the sites can. Furthermore, new ones *WILL* pop up even IF Oh2 went away as well, and that the sex industry, *again*, for both men and women, both, equally, this is not just a woman thing (though I do feel for women that are worried about losing income - more than you each could know :/), but point is it will continue. You will have a life doing this. You will have clients. It will not be taken from any of us. I assure you. There are also other sites where you can sell or buy (once again you can't sell anything if you have no buyers - another reason this is *not* gender specific - nothing I have posted is aimed at one gender).

No way is some silly law that doesn't do anything beyond what FOSTA did going to impact so much as the amount of dung on a gnats ass. Did bad things happens to women? To men? YES. Is it stabilizing after the panic? Yes. Will it co tinue and thrive? Yes. Also, realize that the much more vast number of people who were truly marginalized and left for dead or to rot on streets were underage boys and girls from south of the border, Philippines, Vietnam, former eastern block countries, Africa, etc.... I find the relative lack of empathy for those children, for those young men and women, whom were *truly* marginalized to be the real crime and awful behavior here (if anything). That's horrible.

And read the report in that original link by lovelyxxxo/Caroline. Or go research online. 20(ish) cases?!? Most of which are either Backpage like operations and local stings that bust little pimp/thug/crime/drug rings.most of the rest are places that operated on the dark web (not the one many of you might think is the dark web - that's not the dark web - the dark web is a physical network of networks existing within the internet that you need special access to, possible even account data for some really secret ones, and at least using a special browser, along with various encryption technology). Most of those less than 2 dozen cases are from those places (or like Backpage). Less than 2 dozen? I mean really. Come on. It's not an issue for legitimate stuff. That was my point. The real dark webs that exist within the internet which most can't access (I can't access many of them bc I'm not a criminal or terrxxist with access to those accounts) are filled with disgusting filth like you can't imagine in your worst nightmares. No joke. Think Hostel and Hostel 2 and various other insane stuff, ways to acquire hitmen, buy organs (guess how they got those? ), free labor, forced marriages, ways to make weapons - the really really really bad kind, you know what I mean

My posts are not to marginalize anyone. Or to say anyone's feelings don't matter. No no no no.It's to put it in perspective. My aim is to help alleviate those feelings you are having (which happens to go for both genders btw). It's not to say they don't matter.

What Wes said is perfect though. Empathy alone without a plan (like not panicking as part of the first stage of planning), putting things in perspective, etc... is about as good as a rain god dance praying for rain. What good will that do? This industry will go on. It will even thrive. No question. Feelings are fine. I never said don't have feelings (to the one or two I've apparently upset?). I wanted to spread info that helped people with those feelings. To help uplift them. Help them realize it won't go away. That it will be fine.

If you panic and drive everyone away, but your store stays standing, untouched, unscathed, full of advertisements up and down the road, full of freshly stocked items, aren't you still just as fucked? Advertising if you run everyone off is no good. This is not gender specific. Nor is the "actual" real horrible marginalizing, slavery, & even deaths of of young children, boys and girls, young men & women, from other countries or broken homes.
