Ourhome2 Site Access Issues

I sent an email to support@ourhome2.net about access problems with this site. When I use duckduckgo or Bing, they just freeze. When I use the browser Google Chrome which I detest because of their data policies, I get certificate error stating https://home.ourhome2.net is not private. I get the same error with Firefox
but it allows me to " accept the risk". I hope support can fix this as I'm afraid it's a matter of time before there will be no access.

For some reason they can’t fix it. Just like they can’t fix Review section for reviews. Hobbyist post whole review and then submit. Then the ROS is gone. Then have to go back in and do an Edit to get ROS put back in review.

For the first time I was able to use the new template without it wiping out ROS. So maybe this is fixed.

What does cost have to do with it? When you can’t provide info to other hobbyist. No cost for other site and Review section works fine there.

Um.. $8 to over $1000 depending on the site ....

Seriously, if having the cert makes the site more stable, easier to use people will come here.. but no matter how valuable the information of the site is, if it is a bitch to navigate people will not use it.

It is called E.O.U. Back in the day AOL who charged 25 bucks a month for dial up when everyone else was 10-15 for the SAME internet did so and grew because of their UI (User Interface) it made using the Internet easier... and back then everyone was hopping online not knowing what a mouse was or how to use the PC. Seriously if you had to take a PC proficiency test back then to show you had some basic knowledge of the PC 85% would NOT have been allowed.

So what is E.O.U? Ease OF Use... if the site is a pain to move from one page to another people stop coming to it. And if the site needs traffic for Ad revenue, less traffic, less revenue.

So Klarnax before you blanket assume people have no idea what they are talking about.. some of us have built datacenters from ground up that runs the servers sites like this one run on.. and we have our own servers to which we host sites ourselves.

Yeah, I was in technical computing support and data management for 40 years. Google is the last choice in data browsers. Regardless, I would like to hear from suport that my risk has not gone up since the certificate expired and we have to get in through back doors like Firefox allows.

Yeah.. Google is not a browser, it is a search engine, which can operate on pretty much ALL browsers like FireFox, Chrome, Comodo Dragon, Brave, Internet Explorer, Edge, and if you have the last version of it before Mozilla took over.. Netscape.

The point is that the site has ads, that pay the bills... if the site does not get traffic due to an expired cert, the ads won't earn the owner any coin. Sometimes you have to spend a dollar to earn 3

Like a provider who uses motels as her Incall... the cost of the motel (lets say she gets the room for 1hour for 20) plus cost of gas to and from said motel comes out of her pocket initially... but in that 1 hour session she earns 250. Figure 225 is profit.

And you won't hear from support... what will happen in come January a new cert will be bought, the site will work like normal... this happened last year... and I think the year before.

I have no problem with subscriptions to sites that I benefit from. It may be a good idea moving forward.
