    Question Ireland Travel

Hello! I decided to go in January "Off Season." Any tourist tips and tricks?

I can also add my venmo if you want to make a donation to my bucket list travel ;-)

What does my Roth IRA retirement account have to do with traveling currently ? Funds are not available until you are 60, or buying a house.

Would honestly avoid it right now - there’s possibly going to be another lockdown so depending on which part of Ireland you’re in - you may possibly get stuck there longer than expected lol

Lockdowns there aren’t like lockdowns here - very strict

Buuuuut I’ll send over a message with some recommendations for you <3

it appears that you have pre-conceived irdeas about certain things.
openness to ideas as well as travel are very important so one doesnt get all wrapped up in themself and their views of the world.

in other words, you totally missed the idea behind my comnent.

good luck in getting strangers to fund you travels.

btw, generally speaking, you cannot do an early (<59 1/2) withdraw from a roth w/ out paying a penalty.
however, Roth Individual Retirement Arrangement contributions can always be withdrawn at any time.
and as long as you take equal distributions for life, you can withdraw at any time.

Thanks I’m really surprised at the amount people have donated already!

You still aren’t correct: I can’t touch my IRA until it’s at least five years old anyways. (not without a hefty penalty )

    Happy new year!

If it's a Roth, you can take amount you've contributed at any time (not that it's a good idea for a vacation, nor can you touch the earnings).

But, if you make it to Ireland, you should ask the locals for more info on your IRA. I'm sure you'll get some GREAT information!

If it hasn’t beeen five years, it hasn’t, it will be a 10% fee.
(Not sure why my retirement account was brought up when I mentioned travel)

I do believe pm deletes probably had a little sarcasm when he asked if you had not started a recreational travel account and was not specifically reference your Roth IRA

    BINGO.

i mentioned "individual recreational / travel account", never mentioned "retirement" acct.

as crock mentioned/confirmed roth contributions can be withdrawn at any time (even the irs docs & cited web articles state that).

karissa, wrt this "... you know how miserable some men can be when they see escorts enjoying their life ;) ..."
did i ever mention/intimate i was miserable cos someone was enjoying or wanted enjoyment in their life?

appears to me that there could be some mis-reading and/or incorrect reading between the lines going on...

Yes you can withdraw early from your IRA if you want to pay a 10% penalty. Why on earth would you suggest I do such a thing?

I told you specifically during our session that I was saving money and starting an IRA. And you felt the need to come bring that up here for some reason? (something that was discussed privately behind closed doors.) I asked for travel recommendations, I’m not sure why you brought up my savings account.

You seem very two-faced. After our meeting you sent me a message saying that you had a great time. But then you went and wrote negative things.

Karissa was not reading between the lines: you were trying to start something. Not sure what you were trying to accomplish.
So I’ll just ignore your future comments LMFAO

Again, if it's a Roth, then you can access your contributions (not your earnings) any time without penalty. Traditional IRA has penalties because it's tax deferred, of course.

And I thought the IRA was originally brought up here as a dark joke about Ireland. If you ask about the IRA in Ireland, you will not get investment discussion.
