The lady who used to cut my hair left suddenly with four others the day before I was scheduled. Did not like the replacement. So I am now seeking a new one.

It's not specifically a hobby thing; stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. Usually people use the term referring to various kinds of sounds (whispering, clicking, crinkling of cellophane, etc.) that are meant to trigger a tingly sensation in the head or neck. It's become a fairly popular kind of content on the internet.

Personally, it bothers the heck out of me, but some people enjoy it.
