Looking for understanding. In a exchange and preparing to meet. Was asked about cash app, (don’t have). Replied I have cash. It was then requested that pick up a (specific) gift card on the way to the appointment, and not bring cash.

Not sure how to feel about it.

Looking for feedback and opinions.

I have thought about receiving gift cards instead of money as a safer alternative.
Someone could be working with law enforcement and have marked money that proved a transaction took place.
A gift card has a strip across the back with a hidden number (you scratch off the paint layer) & cops don't have that. Never accept a gift card that has the 'scratch off' number already exposed. Use the receipt to go along with a gift card to prove it's legit.
I was told that cops won't deal with gift cards or deposits so it's a protective layer that providers use to weed out undesirables. Smart way to stay safe.

Honestly, for me, depending on the website, and depending on if she had many authentic reviews or not, I just move on.

Everyone accepts (prefers) cash. Who would actually deny it for an appointment? That strays soooooo far from the norm, and just raises soooo many red flags.

So whenever I see an ad that says "I do not accept cash", or if they end up telling me through text they only accept a (specific) gift card, I just move on lol.

Don't do it.

Once you arrive at where ever she directs you to, more then likely, she will tell you to give her the numbers from the card (or take a picture of it) before you head in. She'll give you some lame ass excuse as to why it must be done this way. The money will be gone from the card before you know it & then she'll go silent or even worse, she'll send you to the door of some random persons house or hotel room.

Go ahead & contact her & "pretend" you got the gift card, then it will pretty much play out exactly as I stated above. There's a chance you are not even communicating with someone in the state of Texas or that the person is not even a female.

Its old school. Best to have receipt. Verify card right there and make a instant purchase. They always try to do a 50/50 as if ur a exchange service lol. I charge a 50$ fee for inconvenience and I also use it immediately so I cant be ripped off. To me its not worth the risk/time.

Have always felt in cash before. The was not willing to go through the process to go buy the card anyway when I have what I need on me. I am no young buck, so just did not know if it was a change with all the apps and stuff to go more electronic or something. I am staying with cash if that makes it where I can’t hobby, so be it.

I do accept giftcards with a reciept attached ( visa,mastercard,or on occasion amazon but please always double check which im accepting at the time)
I do this when gentleman worry about what will show up on their bank statement.. Most executives can get away with saying they "bought giftcards for out of town clients" etc.. Or some say the 300.00 walmart puchase doesnt even spark bells compared to a atm 300.00 withdraw on the banking app.. I of course never accept if the number are already showing.. I also have paypal P.o.s so i can actually swipe/charge the card immidiatly and its put into my paypal balance..
I am all for helping keep it confidential.. And i habent had an issue..

But i have never asked that they screenshot or text numbers when i can easily just slide it through the card reader upon entry.. And since the actual visa and mastercards prepaid literally say "gift" it does add an extra layer of protection.. Lol.. But i am not worried about that as the card never leaves the room once it enters .. At least not in my possesion..

But i have heard onlyfans subs are the new electronic payments now.lol ( ill never use it but thats what i hear)

I prefer cash. I have every other means of payment, I actually have 1 client who buys Vanilla Visa at Walgreens. I guess a Walgreens purchase looks less suspicious to the wife.
