Thinking perhaps it has outlived it's worthiness -- this is a HOBBY community, not a POLITICAL community -- perhaps ALL POLITICS should be about the hobby?

The part I bolded sounds like a good idea to me. To avoid "inadvertent" bumping of non-hobby political threads, I propose that the old, non-hobby political threads be locked. I understand, more work in the short term for the Guides, but hopefully, less work in the long term.
