Just finding out that the neighborhood mechanic is deceased 😞

So I was scheduled yesterday to have my car looked at, I believe the thermostat is stuck , but I had rescheduled for today due to my TMJ acting up while I was out of town, and my face is swollen. I haven't heard from the other mechanic so I had decided to call the hood mechanic and the hood mechanic gives good prices all the time like 30 or $40.. last time he only charged me $40 to change it, but just found out he's past and gone..

Any body free that has experience, if these guys don't call and show up.. we were scheduled for noon today. These other mechanics I was scheduled for noon they worked on my car twice when my child has wrecked it, and they've done a good job

Wasn't a stuck thermostat but I got the problem fixed. The mechanics that were supposed to come out yesterday did come by and fix it today.

I was going to suggest to tap on the thermostat to temporarily unstuck it... old school.

^^^^^ Good advice. I try and tap some every time I get a buildup / back pressure in my system.

It turned out being a cracked radiator, from a recent accident my prodigy had in my car.

    Must have been leaking.
If not, that was a small crack.
At least radiators are cheap to buy for common vehicles (at least before Covid.)

The nightmare is when you check the motor oil and it looks "brownish white!" ... freaking water in the engine!

The day it was overheating, I did pop the hood I mainly was looking to see if it was coolant in it, it was. It must of been a hairline crack cuz I didn't see it ..

I'm shocked as well, and still can't believe that I don't have any blown head gaskets.

I did check the oil for myself 2days ago looking for water, in the oil and I don't believe there's any..
