Hey everyone, since there was some interest and PM's from people about this I wanted to let you know, or anyone interested, that I'm working on a small essay that is fully cited, reference linked, and has formal research data and appropriate statistical info along with a subset of resource links you will be able to use at your leisure.
I will possibly be finished with it tonight or tomorrow. It will be going up soon in this and possibly other COED sections.
It will give you a much better idea of the current climate of research data, genomic strain data, statistical models that ascertain IFR vs CFR, along with many links, images, and excerpts from a variety of leading epidemiologists, virologists, and biochemist's from around the world. One of the major pieces (but not even close to the only one) relevant to calculating IFR's is a MedRxiv preprint study which compiled nearly 50 global seroprevalence studies (prevalence of antibodies in blood serum) to gauge total population viral penetration and overall IFR for different age ranges.
I may also add a section to touch on the political polarization aspects but I want to refrain from too much of that as it's not a political piece and shouldn't go in this forum as such. There is however a decent postulate to consider about the current social media era and social viral phenoms which have lead to the situation we find ourselves in recently. I will certainly touch on that as well.
I was writing this piece for another oped that I do in another aspect of my life, but I will also post it here in a slightly modified form for anyone who wishes to read it. I just wanted to post an update b/c I know some have been expecting something on it. It's coming very soon. Tonight or tomorrow.
