when investors learned of ECCIE's creation, the Market took off! the same Market has been choppy the past few months, about the same time ECCIE put in new rules limiting posting, and a dedicated Mod in a couple of thread sections. coincidence? of course NOT

I'm not going to say that's impossible, but really? This isn't the Seven Star Spa. LE didn't take down the site. If there had been a reason to seize it, it would have made the news or at least someone's radar. The whole BP was a long time in the making with multiple raids and warrants and it wasn't because of the new laws.

Eccie is most likely back up as it is right now so they don't lose (or get sued for lost) advertising dollars. All the links go to the major advertisers from before.

The owner(s) were smart. They took it down to access risk and seek solid legal counsel and figure out if there is a way to comply with the laws and still exist. That's smart, not suspicious. Guess what, like Whispers said elsewhere, why would you want to "evade" the laws? The issue is where the line is drawn between information sharing and promotion of illegal activities. That's what the lawyers will have to decide (and the ACLU and others).

Another thing I would say is, I would seriously discourage anyone (located in the US) from being a moderator or administrator, paid or otherwise. That's playing with fire, if you ask me. I would also seriously consider reviews and how they are worded (i.e., does a glowing endorsement = promotion of prostitution?).
