The argument above is known in formal logic as an Appeal To Ignorance (latin, Argumentum ad Ignoratiam).

Basically, you posit a proposition that b/c it isn't proven your conclusion makes a definite assertion. The fallacy in this case is caused by presuming aliens must have done it b/c there is no proof to the contrary. There is also no proof to the contrary of a gazillion other things we could dream up.... hehe
