I just put some concoction together. You know us white ladies and our casseroles!! Lol. :) Porch chops, half cream of celery/mushroom soup, carrots, potatoes, bell pepper, onion, turmeric, fresh garlic, cracker pepper. I haven’t decided on rice or egg noodles yet. Hopefully, it turns out good.

Here are three of my fave cocktails at the moment. The Sp**** is lowest ABV, the Sour packs a punch.

    Aperol Sp****:
Prosecco or other cheap sparkling wine
    Aperol (of course)
    Soda water
Fill a large wine glass with ice. The proportions are 3:2:1 of the ingredients as listed. Stir and garnish with an orange peel

    Trinidad Sour (pictured):
1.5 oz of bitters (I use Angostura... which if from Trinidad hence the cocktail name)
.5 oz of 100 proof Rye
1 oz of Orgeat (almond syrup, Specs has it)
.75 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
Pour all the ingredients over ice in a Boston shaker. Shake vigorously, strain into chilled coupe glass. A lemon wheel is a nice garnish

    Naked and Famous:
    .75 oz Mezcal
    .75 oz Aperol
    .75 oz Fresh lime juice
    .75 oz Yellow Charteuse liqueur
Pour over ice in a Boston shaker. Shake and strain into a coupe or Nick&Nora glass. Garnish with Lime wheel

Being a health nut and borderline germophobe, I have always cooked my own food. Grew up eating meat but now avoid it because of the the Use of Growth Hormones and Antibiotics on Livestock Animals.

I love meat. In the last year I have discovered a taste for hearts and livers ( the Turkish cook them) just not sure which animal. I am pretty sure chicken and lamb, I have also enjoyed the likes of Kangaroo and Buffalo steaks as well as steaks from Argentina. They seem to have a different flavor to them.

As to the photos in the thread it looks like BL bought all the sugar in the store and Roxanne all the bread as all that was there last trip was Sweet and Low and Tortillas. Good enough; first come first served. I was however able to get a bag of Nathan's fries ( along with two giant packs of hot dogs to make hot dog tacos) ; one must be creative like in Chopped kitchen...

But I must say it does appear BL might have shot winning some prize money on some of Duff's shows on the Food Network for the desserts and I'd happily buy that French Dip; looks better than the one at Jason's Deli ( the Beefeater I think it is)

I however will be on team red or team blue on the ' Worst Cooks in America' show..

I do not drink although it looks good; one can never complain about the ' sp****' if done properly !!

I luckily buy things in bulk so I bought a bag or two of sugar before things happened. It's pretty cool some of the restaurants around me are selling kitchen staples for really good prices since they buy in bulk and get deliveries some times more often then grocery stores. Plus it's a way for them to make money and help the locals. I've seen some selling bags of flour, sugar, pounds of butter, large cartons of eggs, milk, paper towels and a bunch of other stuff.

I learned to cook and bake from my dad so when I'm bored I like to do a lot it and then package stuff up and give it to people around me who dont have have food or the elderly that can't cook.
