Fun fact: only 4 cases of coronavirus in The Holy See....compare to Italy or Rome in general...

You can still go to the grocery store, pharmacy, parks, another home to take care of a family member. No real change from the way it has been. Carry on.

I haven't heard what the punishment is for those testy testicles lol

But in Walker County they have a $1,000 fine And or 180 days in Walker County jail.

So think rationally this is no time to channel your ol college era shenanigans

Sorry so there's no confusion on my previous comment.

Harris County has a "stay at home"

    Walker County has a curfew

Between 11:59pm until 5am, for Walker County no one should be out period, unless they have a work pass, medical etc.

[QUOTE=Italia DiBella;706045]^^^ where are you getting your information?/QUOTE]

From the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. They coordinate their info with WHO, CDC, ECDC, NHC, DXY, BNO, and other governmental health departments. Their website is updated about 5-6 times per day.

They do not have any agenda other than to accurately track COVID-19. Local news sources are less reliable because they have an agenda, i.e., to get you to turn to them for news instead of others, which is the basis for charging advertising rates.

For example, your statistics mentioned "near" Houston. That allows the source to aggregate figures so it seems more widespread than it is. Practically speaking, I am not impacted by numbers in Montgomery County because I have not been in contact with anyone from there in over 2 weeks. The Johns Hopkins website lets me know that as of 8:46 AM there were 134 Confirmed cases in Harris County, 1 Death, zero Recovered, and thus 133 Active cases. If I want to know Montgomery County figures I can click on that part of the map and see 23 Confirmed, zero Deaths, zero Recovered. It makes it easier for me to compare data across time, which is far more difficult when you cannot see the underlying data.

I also question sources which provide statistics like "4 First Responders". That is only relevant if caught in the act of first responding, when in reality it could have occured as a result of socializing by them or members of their household, etc. We just don't know so I feel that is misleading.

I am NOT suggesting anybody change how they get their info during this period; I just happen to be more confident getting mine from a consistent scientific source that lets me see the data.

^^^ There's no right or wrong answer.

    It was a simple
    ( info. sharing )question.

Reason being is I look on the J Hopskins map, cdc website, etc. as well.

The numbers on different sites that I've checked are all different so which site is correct?

So one should use whichever site one feels comfortable relying on.

Example: The statistics I shared yesterday was listed on 5pm Fox news.

Me, I keep in mind that the words "Confirmed, Cases and Reported" are also key words.

Therefore "I" believe there are many more people who are "I'll, recovering or dead" from this virus.

May we all keep as safe as possible and out of harm's way.

Everyone needs to do their own best research and not rely on this board for information.

    Back on topic:
I hope our newly ordered "stay home" didn't hurt anybody too much.

    New schedules to deal with.
    Some folks don't like change.

    Let's see what today brings.

I don't know if ANY are correct. That is what I was getting at...look at whatever you are comfortable with, but I was only offering that I like the Johns Hopkins because their agenda is science, and not local situations or advertising.

Plus it is objective...they pulled numbers down early on when things were less reliable. And you don't have to worry about vague language like with news sources because you can drill down to see the county data. Apples to apples comparisons which tends to be lacking with news sources. So if their numbers are off (possible given global nature of data gathering involved) they should be off in a consistent manner-for what that is worth?!
