Back when I was single I always liked having platonic female friends to go do stuff with. Mainly because I prefer the company of women, but also because I felt like it gave me validity to be seen in the company of beautiful women. I could have been dating them for all most people knew. I even moved in with a super hot woman once who I never had sex with. Totally platonic relationship. I was afraid it would be difficult, but I was also banking on it actually helping me. And it did. I met my current wife during that time, and she outright told me the fact that I had a female room mate improved my status in her eyes. If I was some sort of creep, my room mate wouldn't have had anything to do with me, right? I told my future wife that my relationship with my room mate was platonic, and it was, but she ultimately had to take my word for it. Once we got serious, she got me the fuck out of that situation. lol

But at the time I was going around telling people that I had finally cracked the relationship code and had figured out the key: "I'm living with a woman I'm not having sex with, and having sex with another woman I'm not living with. There are a few of us good looking fit single middle-aged men out there. We are single for a reason,, for me I see no need to marry. Unless you want kids or are religious, I do not understand it.

This right here +1000. Let me try a little bit, a curiosity of a happy couple (most I see are actually happy and in love with the wife), and I admire that. I don't want to disrupt, only fill in where she may be too busy with life this week and he has a certain need. Many times the need may be for strange, I don't see that as he isn't attracted to the wife, I see it as a natural human instinct.
