Last 2 weeks: Multiple texts from random escorts(?) I've never contacted

As the title says, last 2 weeks I'm getting texts along the lines of "Hey, babe" or "I'm available tonight." Like an average of 1 a day. Worse, they came to my real world (not hobby) phone, which I've never used to contact a provider. Even if they were from girls I've met in the past, I'd be annoyed at texts out of the blue. I google the phone number each time this happens, then block them. Google (searching the phone # plus the word "escort") reveals that several had of these #s had a couple ads on STG, etc - but almost all of them had no ads older than 1 week, and one number's history showed exactly ONE ad, that same day, in STG. A couple had no results at all.

Anyone else dealing w/this? Can any providers give insight into why another provider might do this? Doesn't seem likely to result in much business, as it seems obviously shady (scam? LE?), and I know it's not the reputable gals here that are doing it. Any way to avoid it beyond blocking the number after the fact? I'm a single guy not worried about my SO finding a text like this, but the people sending 'em don't know that, and obviously don't care. Any hobbyist or providers thoughts are welcome. Thanks.

I get an occasional text from ladies I have seen before simply keeping me aware they would be in my area. I don't mind that at all from someone I have a good history with. My # is linked to a very secure hobby phone. No problem.

However, random #s leaving me those types of messages would be alarming. Although it is a secure hobby phone, I still wouldn't like unknowns having my #.

Wish I had a suggestion for you!! Maybe a more knowledgeable player or a better researcher will have some words of wisdom.

How long have you had that number? You know a hobbiest / pimp I think was shot and died in Dec. The lady that was w him was an escort and left him to die on the side of the road. She was arrested so hopefully you never seen her. If you did she may have your info stored in her phone and cops are fishing you and you are not biting. The guy died Dec 16th in Tyler. The update to the story was on Channel 7 news Facebook page. It is the only thought I had.
