So I believe that 90 year old man who died was in Galveston County. They said they did not know he had it either til after he died, and then his test results came back after his death.

And so it's the same story with this woman?

So how many people are out there sick and won't know til they are dead?

CVK you bring up another great point here. People dying who confirm positive but didn't truly die b/c of the positive result.

For example the 90yr old you mentioned. It's very possible that many deaths are "false positives" with respect to *what* killed them. Particularly so when talking about people who are already compromised with other ailments and/or they are at extremely advanced age.

That's an isolated incident you mention, or even if we took the 2 or 3 in this thread, but how do we know for certain that isn't happening at a decent rate? For example, b/c people are so likely to test someone who dies and then call it a COVID-19 death. But many of those might not have really died of COVID-19. Maybe a lot do but maybe a lot don't. Certainly at least some are a result of such though.

It's yet another aspect to consider when we look at the seriousness of this "pandemic". In some (or many) of those people it likely contributed but it could be other ailments ultimately causing death. That's why we need massively more testing to see how pervasive this really is or isn't. I'd bet anything that at least a significant number of people in the confirmed count (which is crap bc we need a much truer count of total cases) that succumb possibly had complications caused by COVID-19 but didn't actually die of COVID-19.

It's just more to consider in all these numbers folks.

    Key word
    REPORTED

I notice here (in cyber land) and in civvy world how folks minds change once it's a family member or close friend to get ill.

    Mostly human nature I guess.

All we can do is make it a priority to stay off the death list or the ill list who have horrible complications as well.
