    If a court judgment is already in place and it is past the appeal time a bankruptcy placed afterwards might not change anything.
    Depending on the court, the judge lost power to change the decision after 21 days or after the appeal time expired.
    If the judgment against the party isn't paid the party that won can seek many types of court actions to get their money. Don't if ignore those letters in the mail.

    If a person is sued in court, but then file bankruptcy before a judgement is made the court has to issue an abatement in the case (court won't make a decision in the case until the bankruptcy is granted, dismissed, or the abatement is lifted for someother reason. )Then the court might issue a judgment against the defendant
