Doing grocery shopping Wednesday night and happened to be near a Popeye's I broke by no bread & no fried foods (besides that i've been good since July 2019) to try the regular and the spicy versions. This time around it wasn't a massive drive-thru line and the lobby wasn't absurdly packed either.
I ate about 1/3 of both sandwiches before I tossed the rest (wasteful but I don't like reheating most foods). The chicken breasts were meaty and juicy but for me the bread on top of breaded chicken was just...a lot. They were good but didn't blow me away or match the hype. In a few months I'd try it again but just the regular version (I like spicy stuff but the regular just tasted better to me). Not worth any violence for sure lol smh.

I've been driving past a Popyeye's for a few days now and scoping it out. So far I haven't worked up enough courage to go in and get one. I haven't figured out if I should go thru the drive thru or if I should just go for it and run inside. I'm still debating. If I had a bullit proof vest it would make my decision easier. Lol

There was no line when I got one yesterday. It didn’t seem as fresh as the first one I got. The chicken was stringy and the bun was wet from just sitting in the wrapper. It was pretty nasty. I guess they way the combat the long lines is to pre-make these things and have them sitting there waiting. It might just be that you have to get there first thing and get them as they come out of the fryer.

they do seem to be cranking them out.. the lines are getting shorter, but I'll be damned if I haven't gone twice in the past 3 days, and going again later today. I have hit 4 different Popeye's, the best sandwich is at the north Collins (near the stadium) location.. that fucking ROCKED. I'm hoping this is my last time for many weeks, I don't need to be getting that fucking sandwich all the time, but it is the real deal.

Tried the Chicken Sandwich at Popeye's the other day... WWAYYY OVERRATED! it was find but I am still a Chik-fil-a guy 100%

I just finished eating the chicken sandwich.. still good, but not as exciting as a month ago. the lines are ridiculous, still.. I went Sunday night, waited 24 minutes, the car in front had not ordered yet, I bailed. hit a different Popeye's today, I though 3:00 would have short lines.. nope.. well, only 5 cars, but the workers were so slow.. 27 minutes. I'm not sure they didn't slip out and go kill a chicken on the street, it took so long.

A couple weeks ago when I flew out to Nashville from Terminal A, the Popeye's in the terminal had about 15 people in line, screw that! I hung around, and waited to see if a fight would break out. Did not happen. I'll admit, I'm curious to try their chicken sandwich, but I'm not gonna get murdered to try it.
