There are so many methods of wax application, from torch and drip, to paintbrush, to drip ect. Each method has its own safety guidelines. I use a mix of soy and paraffin, paraffin wax has more structure and gets hard, where soy is more oil. Both have a low temp so both are normally safe when used appropriately, meaning dripped from a reasonable distance from the body. I think everyone really does create their own method after playing for a while. Me personally I use a barrier oil/gel on the skin to make removal easier as well as to protect the clients skin. Some people don't. When dripping I use low temp candles that are soy based because I like the run of the wax, you will have to play with it and figure out what you like best for you. There are a ton of resources online about Wax Play and many safety topics regarding it.
