It was to confuse those onlooking who might have made a connection between x-e-s and y-e-n-o-m and if you need me to spell it out in lig patin, E L.
We don't need to maintain that convention here.
150 roses or 1,200 kisses will work just fine.
As long as the message is conveyed, shouldn't be an issue.
