I wonder exactly how many of those arrested were truly sex traffickers, and how many were just unfortunate people caught up in some sort of entrapment set up by some SOB looking to be elected.

Political assholes and their police lapdogs. Bastards all. May they rot in hell.

Usually there is a financial incentive to stings like asset forfeiture or additional federal funding for specific law enforcement initiatives. Hence, there is a political advantage to painting all sex crimes with a broad brush as sex or human trafficking. Moreover, I can't help but wonder if the participating hotels get to share the financial spoils after the cases are closed. Furthermore, reelection is on the horizon so the tough on crime crowd are working up to the big political finale in the 2020. On the other hand, illicit drug use seems to be transitioning from the law enforcement infrastructure to the medical and social infrastructure. That's a good thing right?

Usually it takes an independent non-profit organization to take on the medical and social issues that surround SW.

Corporate and government infrastructures have no incentives to help SWs. So they don't. Usually you see current and former SWs lifting up SWs to find enriched, sober lives.

The list of organizations fighting for sex workers is long, but they’re fighting an uphill battle against backward cultures, corrupt politicians, police, religious boogeymen medicine men and their ilk.

Agreed wholeheartedly! From what I gathered in the article, no minors were taken into care. They did identify two victims (pimped, most likely).

But to arrest grown folks doing grown folk things BCD as consenting adults is a waste of resources. Until gangs, drugs and all manner of that kind of Vice is off the streets, you have no business going after hobbyists. You're a lazy, nose-picking fuck picking low-hanging fruit.
