    Thumbs down

I received the following when I attempted to access ASPD tonight.

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>
There seems to have been a slight problem with the RAPS-The Review and Posting Society database.

The last time I saw that message was back in 2005 when the BIG Crash occurred and the site was down for several days.. So, it appears that the plug has been pulled and the serious repairs are underway.

Now, on a lighter more entertaining note...

    :D Hi,

Love the pics and does that mean all the old information is gone?

    Sincerely,

    Unhappy

I believe I read a board wide message from CK on ASPD that the Main Site would be down temporarily in the evenings when the techs would be making some major changes. So I think this is expected. I know around 9pm I couldn’t even get ASPD up to even log in. Just know I had cleaned out all the cookies and I have a shortcut link to my UserCP, that screen popped up and I entered my user name and password, then the message that Mokoa copied popped up after I hit the enter button.

Hopefully nothing other than the expect time offline is happening.

    Fingers and toes crossed!!

Not sure what the issue was but it was not part of any program or plan...just happened. After I called the right guy it was back on line within half an hour... there is a definite commitment by the board owner to make the thing whole, robust and thoroughly modernized. It will obviously take time and money, and imho if we can just keep the wheels on for a while it will get done without too much trauma to the community.

    Well done!

It appears that the plug was pulled yesterday afternoon so that more work can be done. There are some things that simply cannot be worked on while the site is still connected to the world.

Guess I figured one day/evening would be sufficient...but hardware/software "upgrades" can be challenging sometimes...

As far as I can determine, the outage is not due to an attack. Those can be handled.

This outage is somehow data-base or server related and I have rec&#39;d no info from board owners and HOME2 registration was opened up a bit more today. So y&#39;all may start seeing some new faces.

Per the usual, use caution as we know there will be some scammers trying to register some known member handles, but the HOME2 staff is matching established handles and email addresses to stymie those with malicious intent.

    <div align='center'>...and on a more serious note</div>

invitations are being sent out as quickly AND SAFELY as possible; however, if you are talking to a well-known member (such as happened to me today with a Provider) and they are not aware of the new site ===> please do NOT extend the website address to them. Let us know of that person via email and the invitation will be extended.
