Choctaw Report Late Wed Night

So wondering how the local casino is doing after reopening. Here's my report from last night and early this morning. 1 hour drive north with no traffic whatsoever. Lots of LE looking for speeders so suggest to set the cruise and enjoy the ride. A self-driving Tesla would come in real handy here! Got to "resort", maneuvered around construction there and got a spot in parking garage near casino entrance around 11P. No line to get in or at players club to sign up for an account. That's about all the good news.

2 craps tables w/$10 minimum. Both full (6 players allowed) with people waiting. Same with BJ and roulette. When we left around 1A, those tables were still full w/people waiting. Those are my tables games so I was SOL. Played Mississippi Stud and lost $200. Beers were $6. I'll probably return but I'm not much of a slots player. So my downside will be much less than Vegas.

re: covid - didn't see much evidence of sanitizing dice, chips or cards.

On 75 South, beware of speed limit change between Grayson and Collin county. Goes from 75 to 65 and back to 70 pretty quickly. LE seems to live on SB75 at the county line. We saw 2-4 different traffic stops southbound.

Before anyone asks - I saw no evidence whatsoever of working girls there.

Stopped by Winstar late yesterday afternoon. Three people max to each table game and the pit boss cleans the seat and playing area with every new player. Also they have hand sanitizer on every table and you are required to sanitize your hands before you are allowed to play. I had fun as I prefer less idiots playing at the BJ tables anyways.

Unless they send my some large comps, I’m not going.

I went to one in shreveport/ bossier and it was ignoring. Empty but still can’t find anywhere to play because everything was roped off. I just played my comp and left.

Even with comp, it is not worth it yet. Both casinos and beau rivage sent me pretty good offers but unless they guarantee win, I am not going yet.

Beau Rivage sucked. I'm sure you've gotten their comp for a free flight and hotel for two. I went several years ago and was disappointed. There's nothing to do outside of the resort and didn't seem the nicest of towns to just hang out.

Did you regularly receive comps in the past?

I usually had a hard time getting comps on the weekend in the past. I am now getting emails for comps any day in Vegas.

Keep an eye out or call because it looks like the hotels need people.

I'm actually getting inundated with Vegas comps offers via email and several casino host. Granted, I used to fly out to Vegas every other weekend before COVID. My guess is that they are trying to drum up business and get the ball rolling again.

Outside town sucks but the hotel is beautiful. Foods are awesome. Hospitality is very good (compare to what we have). Casino is good.

Agreed but I had ventured outside the casino since there seemed to be very few attractive ladies and wanted to see what the town offered. I'm sad to report that there's very little talent in that town. I should've listen to the advice of the local poker players at my table and stayed in.

On a side note, there's a ton of cheap flights to Vegas out of DFW if you don't have a lot of FF miles.

Twice a year from the place I usually stay and play at. Always get free suites for any day of the week. Last year I got $400 free play comps. This year $100 and Sunday to Thursday in regular room. They cut out food comps the year or two before. I never used the food comps anyways. Too many other places to eat.

I lived in Vegas Reno for about a year back in 2018. I take adventure jobs every few years so I can see what other parts of the country are like. I lived in Reno rent free for 7 months by just hopping from casino to casino on comps.

I got to reno two months after legalization. On my way back from Nevada I stopped in Colorado to get 420. In one of the dispensaries giving the Coloradans the info about legalization in Nevada. I made the comment that I was heading back to my home state to be amongst all the piece of shit hypocrites. I have never heard a louder laugh in my life. One guy fell out of a chair behind the counter.
