Is the virus putting a damper on anyone’s hobbying?
Never. The threat of divorce, jail, robbery, or STDs hasn’t stopped me. A little flu can’t hold me down.
Passed out these NIOSH N95 respirators to the entire flinde harem yesterday. Remember the hoemonger's motto - "Be Prepared"

I just came home from HEB. There’s a sign in their pharmacy saying that they are sold out of face masks. I thought that was odd since I haven’t seen anyone wearing them around here.
You shouldn't need a mask
I'm sure most of the ladies have seen guys waaaay uglier than you.
Well...maybe not way uglier, but a close 2nd.
You know.
Like a photo finish.
Probably because the makers of masks have withdrawn from the 'public' marketplace as they see a significant and serious problem 'covering' the medical professionals in the next month or so - some news article. I think read that there are somewhere around 30 million masks available, which is not enough to cover the medical staff.
There's a report, a lady tested positive was walking around north star mall, and had a room at the holiday inn, in the airport area..
wow. what kind of asshole goes to a mall right after getting out of quarantine? smh
Apparently they closed the mall down for cleaning..

SERIOUS crazy ass panic biying at the HEB @ Boerne Stage Road today. And no in store prepared meals/food - they had those people restocking the shelves that the rich people were emptying.
I were you ladies, I would put in the time now plus be conservative with $ in case biz gets adversely affected by virus fears as well. Otherwise, unless you are over 70, or have a compromised respiratory or immune system, I wouldnt worry about it.
She tested negative twice. She probably didn't even know the test might have a 30% false negative rate when asymptomatic. After being held in quarantine for 14+ days, the desire to be someplace other than a little room is understandable.
...
Besides, the CDC plan was to drop all of them at Northstar Mall.
CDC 'mistakenly' released her, yet all of her tests weren't fully completed....
The patient was released after two negative test results 24 hours apart. However, there was a third test performed that resulted in what was described as a "weak positive."
Questions abound...
- When was this third test done in relation to the other events in the patient's timeline?
- Who requested the third test and when did they request it in relation to the other events in the patient's timeline?
- Where was the third test performed?
I am more concerned with STDs in the hobby than I am about COVid19 in the hobby.
Also don’t forget about non STD things like UTI’s, Mono, pink eye, hepatitis, the common cold, etc...
Lvinglifeinaustin, you are to funny!:clapping:
I have recently re-watched "As Good As It Gets." A lot of obsessions are life saving!
Having OCD with cleanliness suddenly becomes best character traits this days.
I am very glad, that people have started paying more attention to cleaning and disinfecting. This problems are nothing new. Just like a rule of washing hands and taking shoes off when, walking in the house.
I wonder, have this virus made anyone to look in to investing in some stock, that you didn't do before?
Holy shit this is funny!

I truly can't believe how irresponsible the media has covered the Virus pandemic. Why people can't realize it's less deadly than the normal flu we live with every year. It kills roughly 2% of those contracting virus. The regular flu actually kills MORE people at 3-5%. So, it's less dangerous than the normal flu. Go Figure.
Once a vaccine comes out within the next year, the number will continue to lower.
And the 2% number is mainly on Chinese patients who live in smog and smoke cigarettes a hell of a lot more than the average American. Which should lower the amount of people dying in the U.S. even further. The deaths in U.S. include 19 in a single nursing home out of the 20 something that have died. As of today, you have a better chance of winning the lotto than dying of Corona.
But we're gonna make a big deal over it.
For those that think the mask is important!!!!!! Not. The mask will not save you from the virus unless someone sneezed or spit in your face. Chances are they are going to get your uncovered neck in the process. Whoops. One of the ways the virus spreads is touching your face. How can you put a mask on without touching your face?
With the regular flu, you should always wash your hands! Don't touch your face! TREAT THE CORONA VIRUS LIKE THE NORMAL FLU. The highest risk are the elderly, young and anyone with upper respiratory problems like COPD.
So overblown. If it wasn't an election year, this would have been handled entirely different.
You are SO wrong. Yes, the flu kills more people, but the mortality rate is much higher with the corona virus, 3%-4%, compared to 0.1% with the flu.
It’s not less dangerous. There is a vaccine for the flu. There is no vaccine yet for the corona virus.
Concern in the media is not irresponsible. If there is any irresponsibility, it’s our government’s denial and lame response.

Some of you might find this interesting if you like Joe Rogan. It pretty much confirms what Lovinglifeinaustin posted.
Seriously, folks, we’re in the calm before the storm. Fortunately for us, if you can still boink you are probably healthy enough to withstand and survive exposure. But I seriously must ask that anyone in the hobby and on OH2 who tests positive to please do a self-alert and let us know. There should be no repercussions, and all it means is that we give our libidos a little down time. We are all already experts at masturbation and we already know that it has gotten us through tough times before.
And besides, do you want to give a rundown to everyone (and I mean doctors and family) of exactly who you have been in contact with for the past 14 days....?
Tom Hank's, and his wife have tested positive..
Here are the numbers from the CDC as of 5 days ago
So far, the new coronavirus has led to more than 100,000 illnesses and more than 3,000 deaths worldwide. But that's nothing compared with the flu, also called influenza. In the U.S. alone, the flu has caused an estimated 34 million illnesses, 350,000 hospitalizations and 20,000 deaths this season, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
That’s 100,000 cases in about 3 months. So if the corona virus spreads like the regular flu and is not contained and there were 34 million cases in the USA (like the flu this year) with a mortality rate of 3% that would be over 900,000 deaths in a year. The public health system would be overwhelmed. Italy currently has over 10,000 cases in just 2 months, check out the news videos of ICU units in tents there because of not enough public health infrastructure.
Hopefully it will be contained and the spread slows down or stops while a vaccine is developed.
The NBA shut down for the rest of the season as one player tested hot for the virus. 200 dead in Italy in the last 24 hours. Trump bans flights to Europe for the next 30 days. A Cobb County, Georgie daycare worker tested hot for it. The first case showed in Hattiesburg, Mississippi today.
Kind of makes you look not to far back and think of H1N1, SARS, Bird flu, Swine flu etc. etc.
Welp, my trip at the end of the month to the Netherlands just went up in flames lol
Your percentages were off though Gentleman in your prior post. Like James pointed out. He's right.
Currently the coronavirus "appears" to be more lethal (particularly to certain subsections of the populations such a elderly and/or comprised respiratory systems). That being said, yes, flu kills FAR more people in total numbers.
The main factor I'd like people to consider is that we are not even close to seeing true percentages yet b/c we do not have proper testing or accounting of all those who actually have CoV19.
As such, we are experiencing a statistical skewing b/c the deaths when they happen are obvious but the vast number of people who have or had (and are no longer sick) go unreported. This is much less the case with the flu where we have far more accurate reporting and data.
