I have a question for you aspd/bcd *paying* members.
How (OKAY) are you with sending your bcd payment to a P.O box, leaving the money order BLANK????
yet indicating somewhere on some paper, your aspd handle/email?
How trust worthy are you that you will receive your paid BCD credit? When your now told to send them a BLANK money order.
If I were a guy paying for bcd. I would want to do it electronically and get a darn receipt showing I paid such amount. Or if I send a money order (as I've done for sponsor Ads. Won't anymore). I fill out the darn money order. I sure as hell would NOT leave it blank. Probate issues or not. I don't feel it's a good idea.
It can be filled out (for anything/anyone).
Thus where is your money *really* going?

I'm glad I was fortunate enough to be received into this community. I am clueless about what is happening on ASPD in the wake of Amber's passing and the Houston incident bothers me. I believe I will confine my social activities to this site.

The blank money order to the aspd mail box is historic and the way that aspd protects the sender and the receiver. It was how Amber kept the company name off any potential trails. Many BCD subscriptions and all sponsors and some others were done that way and since I never had a hand in the transactions for banners (much more expensive) I know not if those were paid that way.
Yes, there's an element of trust, but 25 or 50 bucks in the biz is not a biggie, and support always told the potential sender to make a pdf and send that to support, advertising and webmaster (no secret -it's published) so all would know the bux were coming and there'd be a payment trail. The system worked that way ever since PayPal dropped off and even before for the big bcd payments - annual and lifetime.
I think most members would prefer to have all of the personal data concealed from the site itself, Verotel accomplished that as the intermediary. aspd got some sort of payment data indicating a member profile, I think, but Support was not involved directed in those either.

I feel I may have missed something whilst in El Paso....i guess I should review the posts...
I hope that Whispers is speaking for himself, and not the "new rule"...
But his coming out of the shadows has put a chilling effect on co-ed discussions IMO. There are plenty of other boards where he is free to post all the nasty vile crap he wants... Just read his postings on YMWV.net to get a flavor of what he thinks is appropriate for discussion. I always liked the fact that ASPD Austin Co-ed was a relatively friendly place where being nice and respectful was the rule.
But on another topic, does anyone know why CK was stripped of his Admin status, etc? If these changes were so important to Amber, why did she make them her dying wish rather than enacting them while she was still alive? Is there a thread somewhere that explains the reasoning behind these changes? I never knew her. I do respect that fact that she started and ran this site for many years... but right now this all feels a little bit like a coup d'état (not saying it is, just that it feels that way because I don't understand it).

I do not know the interworking of ASPD, but what I am seeing that is happening, is that now that CK is gone and the current Mod's have been muzzled by the person in charge. Whispers saw an opportunity to jump in and try to take control. It seems the person in charge is of the same thinking and make up as Whispers, so he is letting him set the stage on how ASPD Austin will be run in the future. I personally don't like it and will not go back.
If I am incorrect, CK please correct me, I am just stating what I think and how it looks to me.

I find it disturbing all that is being done is touted as What Miss Amber wanted and that the "whispering" cockroaches are crawling out of the walls since she is gone... just my .02

Consider them "self posted alerts" and remember who has outed themselves as a psycho.

But given the things he has written in the past I can't be surprised at what has happened since he took over. And that is enough said about that.Quote:

Good point!!
It goes back a long way, more than 10 years. Fortunately, Austin wasn't high on Amber's hit-list/shit-list cuz she never liked coming to Austin anyway or our retro-hippie/slacker ways. So I don't think we were being picked on in particular by new ASPD administration or its sycophants.
