Westchase, energy corridor or Katy area is my suggestion.
You would do well on the south side. Consider the Friendswood/Webster/Clear Lake corridor. Plenty on hotels and good restaurants. Yes I am somewhat of a Champion for the south side.
Westchase is cheaper but much harder to get to for anyone up North - energy corridor is great as long as it's not too far out. Centrally located but not too expensive.
It's a nice area but complete shit to get to from anywhere not south. 45 is just a nightmare.
La Quinta West Loop south. Low rates. Huge rooms and property.
Galleria is a great area but a bitch to get to a lot of times. Westchase works for me. It’s a good compromise.
I am on the north side so I am partial to the 45 north inside beltway but outside 610. I do recommend some of the hotels up near IAH airport.. easy access... and as an added bonus because they are close to the airport, the rooms are a tad more sound proofed. Look on JFK blvd north of the beltway, or going east on Will Clayton. I stayed at the Ramada Inn on Will Clayton doing a photoshoot with a model. The room I got was their larger suite and it was like 110 for the night but it was HUGE.
I second the south. I'm also kinda biased because it's my side of town but there are nice places to stay and good eats and some nice views around kemah and clear lake.
Westchase, Galleria, Energy Corridor… I wouldn’t name the exact location you choose, just to be on the safe side.
Stay away from Northside like Montgomery County…..bad news.
